As the perception of a work (in that case, movie or tvshow) is liable to change over time, which change is liable to be reflected in the metadata source sites, it may be useful to include a feature to snap update ratings tags.

It would be as useful to snap update awards tags, except perhaps that they do not (yet) exist in XBMC.

+1 I also think this is useful. I am going through my movie files now individually and fixing some things like forced subtitles and noticed that the imdb ratings have changed... Usually not by much bug having an accurate rating and vote count is always good. I actually think vote count would be a useful way of sorting movies also.
