Linux DD/DTS Sound problems in Frodo/Openelec RC4
#1
Hi All,

Currently running Frodo on 2.99.4 OpenElec RC4 on an Aspire Revo r3610.

I have the sound set to HDMI, sound works fine in the menus and anything up to and including 2.0 stereo. Whenever I try to configure or play anything higher (DD5.1 or better) instead of the sound I just get a loud continuous crackling/buzzing sound.

I have a log and an output of aplay on pastebin here.

I have tried speare settings at 5.1 and 7.1 (no change) all devices are set to HDMI. I have tried unchecking all boxes, then only having DD5.1 or all (my amp is capable and works fine with the playstation playing DD5.1/DTS over the same HDMI connection).

I have essentially tried (I think) all combination of settings, but without any joy - would really appreciate any pointers anyone can offer here.

Thanks !

You are not running version rc4 of OpenELEC. Cause you use an Audio patch, that did not go into rc4, cause it was not tested - and revelead to be broken.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
