Linux Hauppauge 2250 cold boot issue
#1
So for some reason, my HVR-2250 is not detected properly after a cold boot. A reboot has it working fine, but I cannot for the life of me figure out why a cold boot causes it to fail. I've done some snooping, and it appears the following modules are involved in the boot process somehow: tveeprom, saa7164, tda18271, and s5h1411. There may be more, but this is all I can figure out. If I do a "dmesg | grep saa" after a cold boot, there are no lines. Same for the other 3 modules. After a reboot, I see messages for all but s5h1411. Perhaps the modules are not loading in the correct order or something?

Sorry, I should put some more info in. I am running Ubuntu 12.10 minimal with kernel 3.5.0-25 generic. The card works fine on a reboot, and this just started happening about 2 days ago. I may try to revert to the previous kernel and see if that helps.

[edit] Reverting to 3.5.0-24 generic did not solve the issue.

Paste the output of dmesg to pastebin or similar and post a link to it here.

From a quick look it seems like there's no reference to the card on a cold boot... Not sure what's up although I could have missed something. You could try compiling the V4L dvb drivers and see if that helps, or maybe try the kernel from 13.04.
