Win No context Menus
#1
This is for frodo on Win7x64. I'm using a wireless keyboard with built in track ball. It worked fine on eden.

When I use the right mouse button to bring up a context menu the pointer icon changes from gold to gray and either nothing happens or it acts as if I've pressed the escape button.

The right mouse button works perfectly well with the OS and in every other application.

I have not manually edited any configuration files.

Not having access to the context menu makes it impossible to perform some essential tasks, like setting up sources.

edit:
I tried a different keyboard/mouse combination and the behavior is the same.

You may want to check your debug log (wiki) after right-clicking with your mouse to open a context menu. See what action, if any, was recorded in the log. Also, do you have any *.xml files in your userdata (wiki)/keymaps/ directory?

Meanwhile, you can use your keyboard up/down arrow keys to select an item and press "c" to open its context menu.

There are no xml files in my keymaps directory.
I can use the arrow keys, but when I press c, I get the same behavior. The pointer changes color and nothing more.

Here's the bit of the debug log which seems appropriate

What does the debug log (wiki) say when you use keyboard "c" on an item? And what type of item are you trying to open a context menu on?

I was trying to right click on "TV Shows" so I might set up the sources.

Here I pressed the c key a bunch of times and the right mouse button twice.

"TV Shows" where? On the main menu? On Videos > Files?
To add a video source: Videos > Files > Add Videos...

This shows "c" is definitely interpreted as ContextMenu
Code:
20:16:53 T:2080   DEBUG: Keyboard: scancode: 2e, sym: 0063, unicode: 0063, modifier: 0

Thanks. My Fault. I had Videos hidden from the main screen. (If you have TV and Movies why do you need videos?).
I had to un-hide Videos, set up the library, and then re-hide Videos.

I wish all the administrative functions were under Settings.

The MOVIES and TV SHOWS options don't even appear on the main menu until you added those types of content to your video library via the VIDEOS menu option. You also need the VIDEOS option to access video sources that you've chosen not to include in your library, video add-ons, UPnP sources, etc.
