[RELEASE] Apple iTunes Trailers (Video Add-on)
OK great, thanks.

Let me know if you need more info or if you want me to try that debug version.

I think I found the problem. There is a hidden setting called use_cache that enables/disables the cache. It looks like I left it set to false accidentally. You can change the value of the setting manually by going to special://userdata/addon_data/plugin.video.apple_trailers, edit settings.xml, and change this line:

Code:
<setting id="use_cache" value="false" />

Change "value" from false to true. If you don't see that line, add it with a value of true. Let me know if you don't know how to do that or it doesn't fix the problem. The next build will change the default to true as it should be.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but this thread appears to now relate only to a fork of the add-on which is contained in a banned add-on (wiki) repo. If this is true then that is against the forum rules (wiki) and the thread will be closed and archived.

It's in somebody's personal github repo that hosts other beta addons. There has been no direct link to said repo. Also, one does not need to install the repo. I for example installed just the addon from github.

The discussion only revolved around an updated apple trailer addon (not a repo). Everybody's been pretty careful not to link it to anything that may be questionable.
There is reference to and talk about the beta repo, which is not acceptable as that is a banned add-on (wiki) repo as some of those other addons in it violate the forum rules (wiki) on piracy.

If that beta add-on comes to be mentioned or references this thread will be closed and offenders may be banned.

I tried this and it doesn't seem to make a difference. Sad

Hmmm. can you post a new log snippet w/ debug on? It sounds like the cache is still not being used.

Yes, you're correct.
@Martijn offered to replace broken addon but @tknorris didn't respond for that. It looks like he is only interested in supporting his banned repo.

I think you should only delete posts since July, not all thread.
Maybe someone will see topic and provide patch for original add-on.
Apologies. Edited again. Now with full log.

As far as I can tell, this discussion has not violated any of the forum rules (having just re-read them to be sure) and I'm not interested in jumping through the hoops necessary to be in the official repo, nor is it required.

Looks like the function cache call is taking a long time.

Your system is taking a really long time to process the data returned from the function cache. What HW are you running on?

So make your add-on installable from zip without any dependency to banned repo and publish it here in new topic.
Now it requires me to install god-know-what-script.module.tknorris.shared
The official repo version of this add-on is broken and no longer works. As we do not support anything from banned addons (wiki) repos this thread is closed

You have repeatedly referred people to your banned addon (wiki) repo, which as you are well aware is a violation of the forum rules (wiki). It is the price you pay for the choices you made in helping to kill off Kodi's reputation and good name.

Consider this a final warning, next time you will be banned without further notice.
