Put simply - can XBMC do H-SBS 3d and HD Audio bitstreaming on Android? If it can, but only on a certain box, which box is it?

Please don't shoot me down for the new thread - the existing threads are huge....

About 3D, XBMC doesn't offically have any support for it.

Frodo can do both with one of these- Intel DC3217IYE Next Unit of Computing w/ i3-3217U + 4GB, 64GB SSD, Digital Signage or Enhance your IdeaCentre Q190 - 57312240 - Black: Weekly Deal
>Alienware X51- do it all HTPC
>Simplify XBMC configurations
>HOW-TO Bitstreaming using XBMC
I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio!

Technically, it is up to the receiver (tv or projector) to accept HSBS and HSBS is really no different than a regular 1080p stream

The hdmi 1.4a spec requires HSBS support at 1080i

Most hdmi 1.4a projectors accept 1080i HSBS, some also accept 720p HSBS

For 1080p, android must be able to output over-under at 24p because most tvs or projectors don't accept 3D at 1080p60

Basically, an android that can do 720p, 1080i or 1080p24 is able to do half 3D

But can it do both as what being asked by OP "Put simply - can XBMC do H-SBS 3d and HD Audio bitstreaming on Android?"?

I know OP wanted it on Android, but it cannot do as you stated. I suggested Windows HTPC instead. The two Windows HTPC's I suggested can do both H-SBS 3d and HD Audio bitstreaming using Frodo.....

HD Audio bitstreaming (for any content - 2D or 3D) is still unsupported on Android isn't it?

There is Android hardware that can handle HD audio passthrough, but I believe the coding side is still being worked out. I'm not sure if this means on the XBMC level, or on the Android firmware for a specific box, or maybe both.

Cheers everyone. I already have an e-350 based machine with an nVidia 610 in it, running Openelec. I was just considering something smaller and a bit quieter plus the ability to use Skype and Netflix if we wanted. Windows was not a good fit for me in the living room personally as I want it more appliance like. Looks like I will stick with what I have for now Smile
