Hello guys,

I have a big problem with the new Frodo 12-12.1 from IOS 5.02 to 5.2. If I used Eden there was no problem with the playback @ 1080p (downsampling). Now @ Frodo I have at the most Movies stuttering issues. I tested it again and again ...... I took the audio to 16 bit tried some options in the audio section (HDMI, optical etc.) Nothing will gonna change that. My Network is Gigabit with fritzbox 7390 and a Mac Mini as server. NFS,SMB,AFP I tried all protocols. In my living room I'm using the Arctic M001 with openelec 3.0. Everthing works perfekt there.
My complete network is wired. No Wifi ! 720p movies working perfect.
I read in some other threads that the new ffmpeg could be the problem!? Is it possible to change the ffmpeg to eden version to test that?

This is probably the new AudioEngine using to much resources. Enable pass through on dts and try again

No you are not the only one. I am also facing similar issues with 1080P files but in my case the number of such files is less.
I have also contemplated the idea of going back to Eden but unfortunately Eden is not compatible with 5.2 so I am sticking around a little longer to analyze the total tradeoff.
If you come around any workaround for this issue, please update us as well.

If eden plays it fine then the AE "has" to be the problem.
To repeat myself. The new Audio Engine use more resource to transcode a 5.1 audiotrack to 2.0 (then eden). If you enable "Pass trough" you free up resources and the stuttering will probably stop. (And you'll get good 5.1 audio)

P.S. Downloading 720P takes less space, and looks just as good when playing the media from ATV2

In my log is passthrough deactivated, but if I enable passthrough, nothing gona change the video problem. I will post later, if I at home a new log with passthrough enable.
Wich setting I can use? I have the ATV with HDMI on TV. I don't need Dolby or DTS. My settings are HDMI output and 2.0 speakers and no DTS & Dolby captiable reciever?!

Yeah, but I have a second HTPC in the living room. There I need full resolution & DTS + Dolby there.
The ATV is in bedroom. So I need a solution for both.

If I have a alternitiv for ATV2 (box size must be the same, like the android boxes. But really cool would, that I can use linux on android boxes.
The OS with android and xbmc is not really useable or?!

Strange is.... my audio settings are HDMI ----2.0 ---- stereo on all speakers. and boost volume on dowmix. In the log is passthrough deactivated. In settings are not specified option to say downmix only stereo on all speakers! I think that means the downmix or? Can I do something with the advancedsettings.xml?

I was facing stuttering issues with ATV2 5.2.1 and Frodo even with 720p.

Downgrade the ATV2 to 4.4.2 and Eden 11 and everything runs smoothly now.

Yes I know. I run on 5.02 -- 11.04 eden. It worked perfectly to. Only last time i couldn't update the moviedb and all others addons.
I started this thread because I can't understand that frodo isn't useable on ATV2 in 1080p?! If I can change the AE or any fix for ffmpeg would be better for the atv2 to be UP 2 DATE

Ps. I trying the most settings variables that are possible on atv2 from analog to coax or hdmi, with passthrough, without it. the result is on all settings the same.

Hey Memphiz, this takes no effect of the stutter effect! It's doesn't matter which settings I used in settings. I think the ATV2 is to slow for frodo. Perhaps is the AE or new ffmpeg, I don't know it. Is there any Box that can use linux, like Minix Neo or Pivos ?

It is strange, I have stuttering issues as well with 1080p videos, however Firecore Mediaplayer can manage to play those files without a problem. I tried every poossible methods with audio setups, but did not help. I guess it is something with xbmc.
