Linux Powersaving issues
#1
Hi everybody,

I'm currently dealing with the powersaving options in XBMC in conjunction with VDR (XVDR Addon) and came to these questions:

-> When VDR is currently recording sth. and in XBMC I hit the "s" key and choose "Power off", the system shuts down despite there is a current recording running; I wonder if it isn't possible, that XBMC then completely aborts the power off or asks the user, if one really want to power off despite there is a current running recording or asks, if XBMC should power off after the recording has finished; XBMC knows about recordings as you can see in the Live-TV "Timer"-Menu....
I enabled the powersaving option in the Live-TV Settings but that didn't changed anything...

-> Is there a way to automatically poweroff the System after a period of inactivity (of course honouring currently running and shortly starting recordings)?

Thx a lot in advance!

Thx a lot! The last post in this thread ("service.vdr.powersafe") is almost the solution for my issue, tried it and it works...

BUT:
The solutions mentioned in the above thread do all deal with "AutoShutdown on idle and ACPI Wakeup" but don't cover the issue "Press S, choose Power off, XBMC powers off despite a running recording, even it knows about a running recording"

Is there also a solution available?
