OS X Problem adding TV shows in .dvdmedia format
#1
Hi all

I'm new to XBMC and have run into a problem when adding content. Almost all of my movies and tv shows have been ripped with RipIt, so they are in .dvdmedia-format, but while the movies show up perfectly, only the folders/titles show up for the TV Shows - none of the episodes do.

My setup is as follows: XBMC (Frodo 12,1) is installed on a mac mini and draws the files via wifi from a Synology NAS with the latest DSM (checked today). I have separate folders for movies and TV shows. In the movies folder, most movies are just placed in the folder directly, while some are in thematic sub-folders, and in the TV shows folder, each show has its own subfolder named according to the listing on the TVDB. Via the links below you can see how I have set it up and the naming convention I have used.

Movies setup and naming: http://www.screencast.com/t/r4VsZu9YML

TV shows setup and naming - multiple seasons: http://www.screencast.com/t/jzZNLB4K3fM

TV shows setup and naming - continuous numbering: http://www.screencast.com/t/1IQQmoqLfp9O

I have looked around on the forums but haven't been able to find a solution I could get to work (or that directly addressed .dvdmedia), so I would be very grateful for any help - e.g.: will I have to transcode all the disc images using Handbrake? I would much prefer not to, as I like to keep the sound and language options available for language practice.

Thanks in advance!

I think this is because .dvdmedia is actually just a folder, and XBMC is looking for a file. Not sure on how this would be fixed/handled/worked-around, though.

Hi Ned,

Thanks for clarifying that - now I just need to find a workaround ;-)
