12.1 load & crash on supported formats?
#1
I have a couple of movies that make XBMC 12.1 crash on my ATV2 5.2, although as far as I understand they should be supported ?

The movies info (quicktime movie info on my computer) are:

H.264, 1280 × 542, Millions
DTS Coherent Acoustics (Perian), 5.1 (C L R Ls Rs LFE), 48.000 kHz
24 FPS
file type MKV, size 8.43 GB

and

H.264, 1280 × 536, Millions
DTS Coherent Acoustics (Perian), 5.1 (C L R Ls Rs LFE), 48.000 kHz
23.98 FPS
file type MKV, size 7.03 GB

Is there anything I could enable/disable in XBMC to make these movies work?

Yes, downgrade to 12.0-1

I'm not so sure downgrading will help. Thats mostly with python stuff (addins)
Get a mediainfo (google it) and a Debug Log

Hope this is what you needed? Let me know if there is anything else.

The last crashreporter file dates to March 20th. I updated to 12.1 a day or two ago and the movies I got during the last week, so presuming the file to not be useful I didn't include that crashreporter file. I don't seem to have a syslog file.

Thanks for your help!

Just in case, I had the issue on 12, and because of that I decided it was time to do an upgrade to 12.1

Feel free to try the pre-release-v12.2 build as well: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=162100

Prefer first getting these movies to work, and to wait till stable.

With the logs posted above, could anyone help me find what needs enabling/disabling, or what to do to atv/xbmc in order for the movies to work? Thanks!

Friendly ping, can anyone please help find out what this crashing is about and how to not suffer it?

Without seeing the logs, I can assure you that it's a low memory problem. There's been many reports about these issues in Frodo. Did they fix them in 12.2? Who knows

Well, err, the logs are listed a few messages above. Could you please have a look and let me know? Thank you!
