librtmp - Help Thread

Thing is, I'm currently on vacation and away from home until next weekend.

If it's ok with you, I'll pm you when I'm ready.

Thanks again.

NP. I'll obviously post in here if I find the answer in the meantime.

I still think it's going to end up being something either very small or strange.
I cannot believe that I'm the only one experiencing the reboots Big Grin
I saw xbmc.bin constantly restart with OpenELEC Helix (both x86 and R-Pi), due to libcurl not finding libssh.1.0.0, and the only library on the system that tries to use that version of libssh is the new version of librtmp that loads it dynamically. The old pre 30Aug version that links it statically is fine.

At least one other person is seeing this issue, but he/she seems to have somewhat disappeared from this thread.

There have been reports of a few others, but strangely not every single user is getting the issue, so it's fun to diagnose.

Would be so much easier if every single system had the bug.

could you include your latest librtmp.so in Spmc version?
http://spmc.semperpax.com/
thanks
Try this APK:
Code:
https://www.mediafire.com/?ha7ej7jsh8sapr7

I have made it just by your request.

You have to backup your SPMC addon folder just to be safe.
The folder location depends on the device, but is something like this:

.../Android/data/org.xbmc.xbmc

(For official XBMC)

The Minix version is something like this:
.../Android/data/hk.minix.xbmc

For SPMC I'm not sure but it can be this:

.../Android/data/com.semperpax.spmc

If you are trying to install on top of your actual SPMC, its possible you get an error.
In that case, you have to make backup of that folder above and uninstall your previous SPMC installation.

After that you can install my altered version (I only updated librtmp. nothing more. no tweaks) and restore the backup to original location.

You should run SPMC once and quit before restoring backup. Its safer.
Please give update if it worked for you.

Hi!
Thanks for quick reply .
Mimix have 4K . Do ur SPMC have it too ?
shuvro, I only updated the librtmp file. What they have or not isn't my work. Ask in their forums.
Many thanks Mabs!
patria o muerte, now i understand what you were asking in your other post...
SMPC have two versions, with and without a launcher.

I only edited the SPMC with launcher. So I'm sorry for not releasing the other version when u asked.
Doing it now:

SPMC (13.3.2) (No Launcher) (with updated librtmp):
Code:

Hi Mabs,
there's no need to apologize,we all are humans.
I've already downloaded the no launcher version yesterday in the evening.
It works very well!
Thanks.

Yes the ATV2 runs iOS. The ATV1 never ran iOS but MacOS or Linux if you updated it.
RP, have you had any success on solving those RaspBMC reboots with the latest 30.08 version of LibRTMP ?
I don't have any problem and it is working rock stable with my old install of Raspbmc.
But many users are reporting problems in a Portuguese forum I am in.
I'm asking them to post their problems and LOGs here to see if it helps solving this.

Is it ok I made this or you don't need more log reports?

Thanks
The more logs the better. Best to use pastebin or similar service so we don't spam the forum.

I just have been having no luck forcing myself to have the exact same issue.

Maybe if anybody can make an .img with dd or something so I can have an exact image of a broken RaspBMC.

That's the main issue is not having access to an actually broken system to find the root cause.
