UPnP streaming of 3D content
#1
Hi there.

I'm really lost here... My current setup is a CentOS 6.4 file server, a Windows 7 running XBMC and TMT5 connected to a Sony non-3D TV and a Samsung 3D TV capable of UPnP... ehhh... "receptions". I store all my media as ISO files; the 3D Blu-rays are stored as cloned images.

Well, to be very sincere, I couldn't make XBMC open TMT5 correctly. To play my Blu-rays on the Sony TV, I mount the ISO images manually and then open TMT5 with Windows auto-play. The Samsung TV is currently stopped, but I'd like to use its own decoder, so this would save some messy cables.

I was thinking if I could extract the 3D content of the ISOs simply as "3D content" (check Feng Tao's software options...). I believe XBMC could act as a UPnP server, so the Samsung TV could just show the content using its own hardware. My concern is the PC attached to the non-3D TV: will the XBMC installed there play the extracted files as 2D? (I could try this myself, but I'm very lazy right now... Blush).

Well, if anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate.

Fabio
