i've looked at the latest API documentation but am not sure it it can do what i am trying to do. if i replace a file that is associated with an episode with a different file but is the same episode, is there a way via the API to tell XBMC that the associated file for the episode it has in its database has changed from file X to file Y, essentially just updating the location of the file and nothing else? or would the item have to be removed from the library and re-added? i know how so easily do this via sql statements but i am trying to find a way to do it via the API if possible. just deleting the old record and adding the new record would not work because the watched status and date added attributes would be lost thus making an old episode appear as new.
