Avoid "No Optical Drive" Message for Media Stubs
#1
Today I wrote a small awk script and successfully exported 152 items from my GCstar DVD collection to XBMC media stub files (http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Media_stubs). I also customized the message to display the actual place of the DVD in question.

However, instead of a nice message to insert disk XY, XBMC complaints about not having an optical drive ("An optical drive is needed to play this video", translated back from German).

How can I avoid this error message and have it display the media stub message? Is it possible to add a dummy cdrom device on a RasPi running OpenELEC?

TIA
Heinz

Thanks, I signed the "petition".

Looks like I can fool my poor RasPi with an obsolete UMTS stick with a builtin fake cdrom (for the modem setup stuff), but I really would prefer a clean XBMC solution.

This clearly is a luxury problem though, I really appreciate all the progress XBMC/OpenELEC makes on the Raspberry Pi.

Regards.
