Linux Set up XBMC library with other media server
#1
Question
Hi Everyone,

So based of many peoples recommendation I have decided to seperate the workload of my current set up into 2 PI's.

One Pi is running XBMC, the other is set up to torrent and run mini-dlna,samba,nfs.

What is the best way of having XBMC read the library from the other.

At the moment I have the set up XBMC's sources through UPnP and although it can see the files it does not seem to be building a library of any kind. I was thinking of setting up SSHFS to mount some folders on XBMC and add those as sources instead.

I also plan on using Yatzee remote with XBMC and i was wondering if i need to set that up in any certain way.

Advice would be greatly appreciated.

-Thanks, Chris

how about /nfs?

Or make a MySQL library and point to it from both machines

mySQL Library?

I thought about /nfs but i figured that would have the same problems as upnp

I am starting to think sshfs is the best solution but that would require me setting it up on openELEC

Use nfs. It will scrape the library fine. upnp is quite different and not suitable for scraping.
