Hi, I'm having the same problem.
I'm on 4.1.1 and XBMC crashes with any version I try 12.1, 12.2, and all nightly builds mentioned in this thread.
The problem only occurs when having the mysql db set in advancedsettings.xml.
However, the access to the mysql server goes well.. i even got db migrated/upgraded when trying some of the builds.
The only difference that I notice when starting XBMC with mysql (comparing to without) is that the RSS feed takes longer to start and comes very slowly, like there would be problems with the refresh rate of the window. XBMC crashes within 5 secs. This does not occur when starting without mysql.
On one of the logs I got the following at the very end of the log (only with one nightly build, never noticed it on any of the others)
