merge similar genres

i have a lot of duplicate genres in my movies library... i have almost every single genre both in english version and french version... for example of dramas movies i have a category called "drames" and another called "dramas"

is there a config file where i can tell XBMC to merge similar genres ? I don't want to edit every single movie and manually change the genres, i would prefer an automatic solution for all existing and futures movies in my library. Is this possible ?

There's no such functionality built in; you have to use a 3rd party media manager or manually edit the SQLite database.

Found one - SQLiteExpert. (http://www.sqliteexpert.com/). Seems like the personal edition (fully functional) is free. Search works, replace is easy, etc. - already cleaned up my genres. Smile
