Hi,

Running Frodo on an ATV2, storing my files on a Synology NAS all connected on ethernet, and sharing my pictures folder, which is used by the screensaver.

Never noticed this issue with Eden, but any frodo version I have - running 12.1 now where it takes between 10 & 15 mins of watching large white dots circls before the screensaver kicks into life (After it's gone into screensaver mode that is).

Any ideas what could be causing this? Tried changing from SMB to FTP with no difference. Everything else runs ok, so don't think it's a speed issue (All local on fixed ethernet)?

this can happen if you have a *very* large picture collection.

go to the slideshow screensaver addon setting,
on the advanced tab, enable 'enable image cache' and hit the 'create cache button'

creating the cache will take 10-15 minutes, but after that, the screensaver should start instantly.
