Accessing Zyxel NSA 310
#1
I have the 310 set up as my NAS device. The 310 preconfigures directories called Video, Music and Photos. I placed my video files in the Video directory. If I directly select the network drive and add the video files. The window pops up prompting me to select whether the data is movies, music etc...This then enables the scrubber to find movie info the artwork which is displayed when the movie folder is selected.

When I try to do the same thing from a remote PC using the uPnP option for adding video files. I can connect, but I do not get any options to select data type to show movie or art work. The video files under uPnP just show up under a generic blue folder? Is there any way to set up the 310 directory structure so that even under uPnP I can get video info?

No, not when UPnP. UPnP is designed to provide its own metadata, plus it often used dynamic file paths. You will have to use a different protocol for the library feature.
