Hi,
I have searched around for an answer to this but so far I have found nothing spercific.

I am using ubuntu with xbmc installed on it.

I have my mp3 collection on a network drive.
XBMC can access it by samba
Most files play without a problem.

When I try and play certain files it fails. Mostly nothing happens, sometimes I get a message - failed to play look in the logs for more information. I get the following in xbmc.log:

I have tried opening the file in rythmbox and when I do I get the following message:
Didn't get a playback URI for entry smb://192.168.123.9/robertsmedia/music/unsorted/def/Muse/Origin%20Of%20Symmetry/1_New%20Born.mp3

I have tried playing the file on my laptop also in rythmbox andthere is no error but playback dosn't really work.

Does anyone have any idea what I can do to get this working?

Start correctly and upload a debug log (wiki) where you (try to) play a file which will not play correctly.

I suspect these files are just broken / incorrect. Could you upload one for us to check somewhere as well ?
