Win Freezing on Radio Channels or EPG
#1
I have a Myth backend/frontend on Mythbuntu, and another frontend on Ubuntu 12.04, and two more on Android. They're all working very well together. Recently, I installed XMBC on a Windows XP box, and while XBMC seems to be happy and I can watch live TV via the Myth addon, if I highlight Radio Channels or EPG, XBMC freezes for a few minutes then crashes.

This only occurs on my Windows install, not on linux or android.

I've tried clearing the guide, but that doesn't fix it. Any ideas? What information could I provide to help find the problem?

Here's the last few lines from the log:

It froze when I browsed to EPG.

I noticed that after XMBC closes, if I look at my system performance, memory usage is through the roof and the disk was churning as it was caching to pagefile.

Any ideas what's going on, here? Thanks!

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce any lags or crashes on WinXP. Which version of XBMC did you install and are you sure that you're using the latest addon version (v1.6.9 or the development version v1.6.10)?

Also, please always provide a full debug log with 'Include more debug information in the log file' setting enabled (see http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=PVR/Backend/MythTV 5.2)

What do you mean by 'Clearing the guide'?

Sorry for the late followup... In the process of setting everything up, I managed to hose my backend video drivers and it took me a while to recover. Then, besides this issue in XBMC I was having stuttering audio playback, so I installed Ubuntu. Unfortunately, this didn't fix the audio problem, so I might go back to XP.

Anyway, by "clearing the guide," I meant selecting the menu option "Reset the PVR database" found in the Settings/Live TV menu.

Thanks for taking a look at this, but since I'm no longer on XP, it's only worth following up on this if other people are experiencing the same problem.
