Performance issues with xbmc 12.2 and Asrock 350M1.
#1
I have an Asrock 350M1 computer running Ubuntu 12.04 and xbmc 12.2.

Everything rinds fine except for high definition content.

At first I thought that this was just something I would have to live with as I have a low power machine. However I have read that the raspberry pi plays 1080p content really well yet mine is struggling with 720p.

I have tried the files stored locally and on network storage and I still get some juddery playback with the local files.

What might be the issue?

I did a basic install of Ubuntu so could there be some bits missing?

First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Most likely incorrect audio settings. That hardware should be able to play 1080p without judder.

Please read http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=34655 and give us some more information and upload a debug log (wiki).
You might want to try out the XVBA builds as well, see fritsch post above.
