Hello, first of all I would like to say how great is XBMC program and how I love it Wink

... and my problem, I running Mac mini 2011 with windows 8, I have onkyo 626 and if I use power DVD I can get HD sound from my movies. I can see on my onkyo red sign TrueHD .. DTS-HD ets. Even if I go to HDMI sound properties in windows I can see my sound is capable of HD audio.

But if I use XBMC i can get just DTS... if I play DTS-HD etc. screen is laggy and no sound but same movie works nice in power DVD with HD sound.

any idea ?
thx

Windows Settings for AudioEngine

You can make easy links to the XBMC wiki using double brackets around words: [[debug log]] = debug log, [[Add-on:YouTube]] = Add-on:YouTube, [[Adding videos to the library]] = Adding videos to the library, [[userdata]] = userdata, etc

I had similar using windows 7, GT620 and onkyo HT-3405, I was using xbmc audio settings as directsound via nvidia but could not get truehd etc.

But as soon as I change xbmc audio out to WASAPI via nvidia hdmi, I played truehd and dts-hd

Have you tried the wasapi driver setting?
