It seems as though Aeon has a fake loading screen
#1
I don't mean fake as in deceitful or anything, just that the loading screen that appears when I start XBMC using Aeon seems to not represent that anything is actually loading; it's just an animation as far as I can tell. I can skip it immediately by pressing any button. I've wasted a lot of time waiting for it to disappear in the past before I realised it was just a skippable animation rather than an actual loading screen. I suppose it was supposed to replace the "XBMC" title screen or something. Either way, I haven't seen this pointed out before. Blush

The point of the loading screens is to allow XBMC to load most of the stuff before the actual home screen appears. This avoids getting a blank home screen on slower systems and makes the start up a little more seamless. When you have many addons loading on startup, this can delay the items to appear on the home screen. It might not happen to you but it does for other.
