WiFi IR Blaster to control other devices from XBMC?
#1
Hi all,

To start, I'm running XBMCbuntu, and using Yatse on Android for a remote.

I'd really like to get full control of all devices (setting inputs, volume, etc) with an IR blaster device. However, rather than use the HTPC as the irblaster, I'd like to pick up a WiFi enabled blaster like the Harmony Link ( http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-915-00014...B005O81U8Y ) or WF2IR ( http://www.amazon.com/Global-Cache-WF2IR...B0051BU418 ) but then use commands passed from the HTPC over wifi to the blaster to control the devices.

This way, I can use Yatse 90% of the time to WOL the HTPC which would turn everything else on and set inputs, then every now and then use the software that goes with the blaster to say, turn on the XBox and reset TV/Receiver inputs.

Does anyone know of a WiFi blaster that someone has already done the work to intercept key commands to figure out what data to send over the WiFi connection?

Thanks,
Ben

Actually looks like some of the iTach devices like the WF2IR have an API...
