sounds more like a wlan vs. lan seperation ... this would mean altering the router settings. You want your LAN and WLAN bridged so that wlan devices can see the devices on lan.

For some reason, I have to stick with Ubuntu 11.04 running XBMC 11.0 on my connected media box (its main chipset includes a VIA VX900, Realtek RTL8188 WLAN chip and an old Broadcom bluetooth dongle that have lots of problems working with Linux kernel 3.x) and I've got the same AirPlay problem as the original poster mentioned.

If both the connected media box and my iPad 2 running iOS 6.1.3 are connected through WiFi, then AirPlay works fine with video streaming; while the connected media box uses Ethernet connection to the same WLAN AP that the iPad 2 also connects to, only audio streaming can be transferred from the iPad 2 to the media box running XBMC 11.0 through AirPlay. AirPlaying photos works fine, though.

According to the release note of Eden last year, AirPlay through Ethernet should have been fully supported by XBMC 11.0?

I've uploaded part of xbmc.log relating to the AirPlay events to the location below:

The entire xbmc.log has been uploaded to:

Thanks in advance for the kind help.

Like I said, you can install XBMC v12 on Natty: https://launchpad.net/~nathan-renniewald...bmc-stable

XBMC v11 does support AirPlay, but v12 has a lot of AirPlay related fixes that v11 won't have.

Yes, I've installed Frodo on Natty via the PPA location where Ned recommended, and AirPlay over Ethernet works (I played a YouTube clip with my iPhone.) Thanks a lot. :-)
