XBMC-Miracast

Dlna is very useful, but with Miracast you can play games, browsing, and you can pinch to zoom on photos, and use every android app. With dlna you can only send photos videos and music, and also YouTube videos...

Hi,
I really interested in Miracast on the Raspberry Pi and I found a youtube video where a guy is doing it and made it (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMyGP933RwQ , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpgCWF9EBwY). But I do not have the time at the moment and I am not so into programming that I am not able to relate what he is doing. Hopefully you can work on what hi is doing and I can enjoy Miracast soon.
So good luck and thanks for all.

Chromecast cannot mirror your display.

I know, but interest generally seems to be on chromecast now, particularly given the completely arbitrary limitations of miracast.

Not sure if anyone else has seen this but this guy has released a beta of miracast for the pi. Ive installed it and although its a little buggy when my device is connected it works with a little lag. Only supports one wifi adapter at the moment though.

Oh FFS codemonkeyricky wants to 'monetise his software eventually' and it will 'run for approximately an hour at a time'

Go spread this bullcrap in a non open source forum, but keep it out of this forum pleeeaaaaase.

That sounds like an awesome news! Just by chance built a new htpc with intel chipset and gpu supporting miracast. Maybe someday (gotham + 2?) I could take it for a spin Wink That said: if someone of the awesome devs here will be working on it, I would be glad to test and provide as many logs as I can.

we developed a similar mira/multicast environment allowing for one or multiple users to get A/V coordinated and distributed to multiple users on the same network, this can be also configured to have a central video with everything else being remote audio, paired from a mobile device allowing the user to user his or her headset or local speaker.

recently we coordinated a method for users to point the camera of the mobile device to the central screen or video monitor and then relay the audio from that screen to the mobile device itself...

we hope to have the units installed in the early part of 2014 in several locations, for the locations that will be public spaces we will officially provide a list

OpenWFD project is a new GPLv2 open source C implementation of WiFi-Display standard (abbr. WFD)

http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/openwfd/

MiracleCast project (miracled) is a Wifi-Display/Miracast proof-of-concept implementation of OpenWFD

http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/miracle/

OpenWFD as a library is probably what you would want to use if you wanted to add Miracast to XBMC

http://cgit.freedesktop.org/~dvdhrm/openwfd/

WFD is also commonly known as Miracast, the name of the WiFi-Alliance certification program
