Anyone using an Iris GPU yet? Image corruption in menus
#1
Hello! I just upgraded my HTPC to an i5 4570 with the Iris GPU, from an E-350. As this is just preliminary to try to determine if my issue is being reproduced, I'll post screenshots and logs tonight if necessary.

I have noticed it in both xperience skins but not confluence, so this may be skin specific to those as they're similar but not for sure. The corruption is in the menus and the art. It's a combination of diagonal jagged "tears" in the textures, typical image artifacting (bright colored small squares), and some menu images seem to be cut in half and mirrored, if that makes sense. As Iris is brand new, there is only one version of the driver at this point and that's obviously the one I'm using. Happening with both XBMC 12.0 and 12.2.

It's a problem with the Intel driver, see http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=161855 & http://communities.intel.com/thread/38686

If you want to use Linux, give this thread a try: since this afternoon we are also Haswell compatible: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=165707
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

I figured it was related, unfortunately gen 4 doesn't have the option to roll back to an older driver Sad

Are Iris users just totally out of luck or do we know of some old driver that will actually work?

There are no fixes for Iris processors they don't seem to work with any type of home theatre software its not just xbmc. I have been testing since I received the bad news that my new pricey cpu's graphics chip was not ready for market.
