I am going to be putting my MySQL databases and media on a server which will go to sleep after inactivity.

Obviously if I launch XBMC and try to access data which is not available, it will fail. So I'd like to catch this event and fire my plugin when it occurs.

I can use Advanced Wake on LAN but I'd like to wake up on more than XBMC activity, because I may leave the XBMC machines (mostly Raspberry Pis) running with the server offline.

Xbmc already supports wake on lan natively in master.
