Amazon Prime Instant Video fails
#1
Running XBMC 12.2 on Win 7 Home x64. I recently signed up for Amazon Prime, so I downloaded the BlueCop respository and installed the Amazon plugin. Filled in my user name and password. But I can't seem to watch anything.

I believe I am logging in properly, as I can see items on my watchlist. But they don't play, nor any other Amazon links I've tried.

Debugging logs: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=33502

I've tried searching the forums, but there are so many replies, it's very confusing. :-)

Thanks for any help.

Not applicable; I'm not using Ubuntu.

I will look into it. I dislike using un-official patches to the released software like that, in case it breaks at the next release.

That first link is just for discussion of the Amazon Prime add-on... nothing to do with Ubuntu or any OS in particular.

Well, bluecop's repository is not "official" to begin with, so it's always going to rely on patches from the community outside of TeamXBMC. Smile

Didn't work. Probably because I don't use Firefox. And don't really want to install a whole other web browser, just to watch Amazon Prime, that I then have to keep up to date, etc.

I use Chrome. And have IE, for the (few) times I need it. Now I guess I will have to have yet another bloated browser ...

Not really gonna read 95 pages of posts, tho. :-) If I have to use something other than XBMC, then so be it, I guess.

So since this workaround is designed for Firefox, I installed Firefox, the Stylish plugin, the R-Kiosk plugin, followed the directions to create a new profile, and tried again.

Got the "You must sign in to Amazon message. Did that. Closed the browser with ALT-F4. Tried again. It looked like it was starting to play! And then I got Error 5007, reload player.

Tried with the directions for Chrome, making a new playercorefactory.xml, and installing and configuring the Stylish plugin.

Got a whole lot of nothing.

Seems I am not destined to use Amazon Prime with XBMC ... LOL

@sammy410,

Did you have something to ask or add to the thread? Your post is just a quote of the opening post of this thread.
