[OLD/CLOSED] PseudoTV Live - Set-Top box solution
(2014-07-23, 00:35)Dec64 Wrote: Luna, PTVL takes about 2mins to even boot from trying to start it. Theres nothing at all in the log. Is there anything that could suddenly be causing such an issue with PTVL. Everything else is fine. Fresh installs. Trying to use just one channel, or 200 channels. All still takes ages to load. but does load properly.

Is there any checks/searchs it does when u first run that could be getting tied up?

Cheers

You gave me ZERO information to form any type of conclusion...

System specs, OS, types of channels (livetv, internet, local, etc)...

But if you're happy leaving me in the dark, I'll guess... Syzygy Big Grin

Haha, I was just asking what does PTVL go looking for before it even starts to load channels? running XBMCuntu, AMD Turion™ II Neo N54L (2.2GHz)
and some grapics card i dont recall lol. Its been running perfectly but something i've done has changed this. I've updated to PTVL and tried multiroom setup. i reverted Multiroom changes but its still loading insanely slow, even on autotuned local content, no fancy channels. Channel type makes zero difference, content type makes zero difference.

**edit- may have found a lot of the issue. I moved everything to a MySQL backend, as well as changing the source for movies/tv from local folder to the SMB:// version. I reverted the database back to local from MySQL but forgot to revert the local source being SMB. it seems when it involves SMB to any degree it chugs to hell. Even when i had the multiroom setup with MySQL and SMB shares. First start creating channels/updating channels, took easily over 24 straight hours on my server/main box. It took about 6+ hours on my much more powerful i7 macbook. Normally it would take an hour or perhaps two on the lesser machine.

How do you add a new to skin? I downloaded the Titian skin, placed everything in the /xbmc/addons/script.pseudotv.live-master/resources/skins folder but cannot get it to show up in the configure as an option.

Put everything inside the Titan skin folder into the custom folder found within the PTVL/ resources/skins section. Then restart PTVL and under the visuals section it will give you a choice of skins...choose custom.
hmm I must be outdated then because I dont even have the custom folder in there.

Thanks. Don't bother if I'm the only one experiencing it. It's likely a problem on my end somewhere. I'm getting ready to head out on vacation Friday so I'm pretty busy this week to play around with it.

I do appreciate the help though.
@Lunatixz PSTVL channels not building. LOG: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0aagputua9ejedj/xbmc.log
I installed the latest build onto my Ouya (freshly restored to factory default) and now every time I launch XBMC I get a PseudoTv Live script error. Do you have any idea what would cause this or why it is even launching something at XBMC launch? Can provide logs later on this week if needed (Friday at earliest). Playback in the script seems to work as expected, just error on XBMC boot.

EDIT: LakersFan, you are not the only one seeing it. Seems to be the same issue brought up in Post: #5409 I do not see a solution presented yet.

Thanks very much
I'm having an odd problem that I haven't been able to find an answer for either in this thread or elsewhere online, though I have seen it replicated by other people searching for help.

I'm on Gotham/Ubuntu 14 (64bit). EDIT: Also, it's PTVL 0.4.7

When opening PTVL, I can press enter on either my keyboard, remote or web control to bring up the EPG. Similarly, up/down allow for channel surfing. After selecting a channel, up/down jump jump forward/back in playback and enter brings up the same controls that you get by pressing 'M' (basic play/pause/find subtitles/see info/etc).

Any idea why it's doing this? Seems like selecting a channel is changing the way it receives input for some reason.
Hi Luna, I was wondering if I could bother you for help. I'm still running PTVL on my Rpi and I'm having so much trouble with it. A while back I mentioned that it was locking up occasionally. Well, now it locks up my system at least 5 mins into starting PTVL. It only will lock up on PTVL...I can't ever find anything in the logs about it though...mainly because it can't write anything to a log while bricked. I've only had this problem from 0.4,6 on. Did anything change between 0.4.5 and 0.4.6 that may have caused this to happen? I honestly don't have the money for a real HTPC solution, and up until lately the Rpi has been doing the trick. Any thoughts at all would be appreciated! Smile

Hi there,

I just set this up in my XBMC and love it. Thank so much!

I did search for this question, my apologies if it has been answered somewhere, I could not find a solution.

I control XBMC using the Offical Android remote. The "OK" button (middle of navigation arrows) brings up the EPG the first time I click it when I open Pseudo TV Live.
However any actions after that, XBMC seems to take over in playback mode so clicking the "OK" button just performs the standard action of giving me details of whats playing. Is there a way I can fix this or map keys differently so that I can get back to the EPG again?

Many thanks.
