[OLD/CLOSED] PseudoTV Live - Set-Top box solution

I performed a new install of 0.4.9 on this weekend and cannot get it started. Tried this on my regular machine and on a new build.

Settings and settings2.xml are from previous installation and have all the proper info. But when i start PSTL is tells me

"Would you like PseudoTv Live to Auto Tune Channels" if a select no - it is gives me an error ""Unable to find channels. Please go to the addon Settinsto Configure PseudoTV Live" select OK and brings up the configuration screen.

Make a few changes, restart PSTV and back at the "Would you like PseudoTV Live to Auto Tune Channels" this time select yes and it goes into a look bringing me back to the same screen.

Log - https://www.dropbox.com/s/cw7odhm6g366bze/xbmc.log?dl=0

thanks.

.......... UPDATE

Luna, I have narrowed this to the settings2.xml file. PSTL goes into a loop when i try to to use it.

Re-installed, let PSTL do its thing ans generate the channels, but when i replaced the file it breaks,

When upgrading, the file is used and the loops occurs automatically.

If it is not picking up your channels it is likely one of two problems:

1) Incorrect syntax, or

2) Non-working or incorrect stream path.

I'm not sure but the ".1" syntax in "Channel_2.1_type", etc, might be causing a problem. All of the examples have used whole numbers, so I would try to rename "2.2", "2.3", "2.4", etc to "2", "3", "4", etc.

Also, should your stream paths be ""/home/[username]/xbmc/Media/OnlineTv/HDHomeRun/2.1 - WCBSDT.strm"?
and
perhaps "xbmc" in the path should be ".xbmc"?

Basically recheck that path to make sure it is correct because there are a few things that don't look like the typical path to me.

Smile

Looks like the "Channel_2.1_type" with 2.1 seems to be causing a problem with this version. They are the actual Channel numbers with OTA . Hopes it gets fixed
The channel number is the number of the PVR backend, not the OTA number. For example I have 26 OTA channels, and my backend (NextPVR) provides them as 1-26 for the channel number even though the OTA numbers are like 51.1, 29.2, etc.

Go into autotunes in your settings
Try to auto tunning RSS feeds and
Youtube only. see how it responds
To those options first .If it works
Then add another option to auto tune
Till you see what maybe causing issues.
Narrow everything down till you come
Across a bug then go from there.
Morning!

Loooooove this addon! Great Job!

I added LiveTV channels using mc2xml grabbing from SchedulesDirect (i have Mythtv). I noticed today that my livetv shows in PseudoTV are off by an hour. I dont know if I have something set wrong, but I have the timezone in xbmc correct and in /etc/timezone set to America/Regina.

I use this to get my xml:

/Media/backup/mc2xml/mc2xml -T LOGINTongueASSWORD -o /Media/htpcsync/PTL/xmltv.xml -D /Media/htpcsync/PTL/xmltv.dat -d 48

Am I missing something?

Using ver 0.4.9

Cheers!
Searched the whole forum and couldn't find a reference to this possible bug...

Installed the 0.4.9b from github following my recent Autotune issues (see previous page). Now, when switching channels, it starts to play the right video in time (like 3/4 of the way through or whatever), but then stops and immediately starts playing the *next* video in the EPG timeline for that channel from the beginning. In the EPG timeline, the times along the top and the cursor indicating the current time don't change at all...but that channel shifts all content to the left.

I know it's development, but thought I'd share my findings. Let me know if you need a log for this. Not sure if it's something you're aware of or have an idea to fix.

I was trying to keep things consistent since I am not using a backend. Channel changing performance was much faster by streaming directly from the HDHomeRun than going via the backend. At the time I was using MythTv and have not used NextPVR, was actually going to start testing TvHeadEnd to see there where any difference. Wold happily consider NextPvr if you are having a worthwhile experience.

also, have been trying different things. Seems like the Channel number can only be a whole number. I replace the period with a dash and had the same loop problem.
does anyone have a mc2xml setup for ustvnow ? there great I miss them in my live channels
anyone know of anything thing that might conflict with python and pseudotv? I have 2 pc's which are more or less the same spec. One works great but the other is a lot slower in generating background channels and basically comes to a standstill and doesnt load all channels. Exiting the addon is very slow aswell (exiting threads).

I see a lot of the likes of this in the log

I can get logs if needed but 5.0 is now automatically muting when I launch PTV. I'm using a FireTV so the only way I know of unmuting is modifying the guisettings.xml. I should have kept the 0.4.9b files to go back to. Any way to roll back?

You're being a little vague about your channel details... the time.strip is called for chtype 8 which is livetv and requires a properly formatted xmltv file.
Unless your I love lucy channel is a livetv channel you might have improperly configured the setting2.xml

I had used the channel configuration tool to create it. For some reason it has 2 x _time ( I tried with and without the second one, no difference.) Here is a quick grep of the channel.

OpenELEC2:~/.xbmc/userdata/addon_data/script.pseudotv.live # cat settings2.xml | grep nel_20_
<setting id="Channel_20_time" value="25" />
<setting id="Channel_20_type" value="6" />
<setting id="Channel_20_1" value="I Love Lucy" />
<setting id="Channel_20_2" value="4" />
<setting id="Channel_20_changed" value="False" />
<setting id="Channel_20_time" value="0" />
OpenELEC2:~/.xbmc/userdata/addon_data/script.pseudotv.live #
