Hello,

is it possible to add the function to dim the status bar on Android tablets?
I'm running XBMC 12.2 first and now the experimental libstagefright build on a sony xperia tablet z with Android 4.1.2 and some of my other apps can dim the status bar like the original movie player and VLC as well.

A Google search on 'dim status bar android' gives some hints how to implement but it has to be called by the app e.g. XBMC.

Thanks for the great work on XBMC for the last years for me since Xbox times.

Hi,

The wiki pages only descibe how to disable the status bar completely. I've tried full!screen and also hidebar. Both are doing this but not only dim. Currently I'm testing also full!screen+ with app depended activation, also ok, but no dim.

Therefore my thread was especially for dimming the status bar. Why can other apps doing this dimming?

Thanks for maybe more possibilities and answers.
