Smart Play Lists for Anime, HK Movies and various other
#1
HI everyone,
i know this has been asked time and time again, but i just can get it to work.
I am running Xbuntu Forodo 12 on my HTPC connected to my NAS with the following folders:
1. Movies
2. TV Shows
3. Anime
4. Vietnamese Movies
5. HK Film

They are all in seperate folders. Using the standard theme i have setup favorites pointing to these NFS shares on my nas and works perfectly, but for the past 3 months i been trying to get the Aeon Nox theme working with custom play lists. I updated the type on each list on the weekend letting index through my whole NAS again to ensure that each folder was updated correctly.

I have tried to follow the following video from CaptainKen is it ? but does not seem to work.

My custom menus do not seem to display anything.
I found another step by step from him using these steps

- Create Playlist
01) Videos
02) Playlists
03) New Smart Playlist
04) Type = Movies (this should be better choice than TV Shows)
05) Name of Playlist = Anime Movies (or whatever you want)
06) New Rule...Add
07) Match Items where = path
08) starts with
09) Browse to your Anime folder
10) Items must match = all of the rules
11) Order by Title ascending
12) Press OK to save

- Assign to desired Main Menu item
01) Settings->Skin->Customizers->Main menu item customizer
02) Highlight unused Custom menu item
03) Up arrow
04) Smart Playlist Manager
05) Select Type = Random Movies
06) Include already watched items? = Yes (choose your preference)
07) Fitness Movies
08) Esc
09) Press Enter on desired unused Custom Main Menu item
10) Disable = false
11) Type = Video Playlist
12) Label = Anime Movies (the name of the Smart Playlist you created)

- Setting the random background artwork
01) Choose background
02) Anime Movies (Random Movies)
03) Set InfoLine
04) Fitness Movies (Random Movies)
05) Backspace

But i still can not get them to work ? Does anyone seem to know what i am doing wrong ?

thanks
w

Can you browse your playlist (XBMC -> Videos -> Playlist -> HK Films) ? Movies are displayed ?

No error in LOG file ?

Hi mikebzh44, the smart playlist will not display anything. but i create a favorite from the NFS it will show the movies. I would not know where to get the error log.

My first guess would be that the videos aren't scanned into the library.

Untill your playlist did not display your movies, it's useless to try to use it in Aeon Nox.

As Vaikin says, your movies are in your library ?

Hi guys,
my videos do appear in the default skin under movies and tv shows, and my favourites playlist just not the smart play list. i checked the media type in my libraries and they are set right movies, tv shows, music videos. It look 1 day just to download all the media info.

You think it would be easier to just wipe and start fresh ?

Then that issue is a problem with the smart playlist, not the skin. Please post the playlist.

You can find it in userdata folder and post the contents of the file(open with notepad) or take a screenshot in xbmc of the edit screen for the playlist and post it here.
