My setup will only turn off my box,I assume the IR receiver does not have constant power when off. Anyways,I have been told to look into the PCS-1 to control the on/off functions. Who has used it and what do you think about it? Is the only option to power on/off by a key command or can it be added to activity. I like the ability to have things turn on and off by hitting an activity button.

I'm using OpenElec by the way.

I use the PCS-2 on my box, and it works great. From looking at the PCS-1 diagram, are you sure you've installed it properly? When your PC is off, the PCS-1 must be powered still. It gets this power from the purple line of your ATX power supply. Do you have that connected? It should be attached via one of the "splicers" they ship with the unit. I really dislike the splicers since it seems unreliable to me, so I soldered mine onto the motherboard. I wouldn't recommend that for most people Smile

Ive not installed it.I wanted to see what people thought of it. I dont think it
would work anyways since my htpc is powered by an external power supply.Unless i can find
a constant 5v connector on my motherboard.
Simerec told me they are coming out with a new external version, but that would just be more cables.

I was wondering about power too but the answer is on the 2nd page of the thread: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1474107 since the NUC has the same issue -- no internal power supply.
