I have developed a pvr addon which is working well for Linux. I am now trying to get it to run work on android too.

I am running the XBMC 12.2 from the google play store (seems to be Git:20130502-32b1a5e)

No matter how I try, I can't get it to load. From the limited debug info I can get, it seems to be trying to load the linux version NAME.pvr rather than the android one libNAME.so

There is no XBMC in the Google playstore (that we know of).

No. Sorry. It was from the xbmc download page http://xbmc.org/download/
What I really meant was that it is not the version I compiled myself.
