I'm experiencing a really weird behaviour streaming MP4 via WiFi, while MKVs play fine.
I tested about 40 files stored in a SMB share and this is the result:
- all the MKVs files play fine via wifi (and they start in a second)
- none of the MP4 plays via wifi (after some "working" they gave an error), but they all plays via USB
- all of the above MP4 plays fine via wifi if I move the router closer, but they still take longer to start than MP4.
All the files are encoded with same codec, same resolution and nearly same bitrate.
So it looks like MP4s needs much more bandwidth to start playing compared to MKV??
Is there a way to tune buffering, timeouts or whatever to avoid this behaviour?
Thanks
