Possible issue with implementation of Artwork Downloader in Aeon Nox
#1
Hi,
I have encountered a pretty irritating bug with Artwork Downloader, and after further investigation I am inclined to think it is an issue not with the addon itself but with its implementation inside Aeon Nox.
I have received no input on this by the addon's author so I'm sharing the issue with you in hope of some clarification.

Here's the original post in which I describe the issue:
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1399702

In short: it happened a bunch of times that when I launch Artwork Downloader for a single movie / tv shows, it instead scans the whole collection of movies / tv shows, from first to last, continuously prompting the user with dialogues about which kind of art to download for every single item in the collection. The hail of popups appearing makes XBMC's UI impossible to navigate.
Once it begins to scan the collection, the addon cannot be stopped in any way (at least I havent found any), the user having to reboot the whole machine.
I am not the only one reporting this issue, at least another poster in the Artwork Downloader subforum has the same problem. And no, I have not set the addon to bulk mode.

However, lately I found out that this issue presents itself only if I launch it from a specific point.
Quoting from my original post (http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1456374) in the Artwork Downloader subforum:
Quote:"When I add new movies/TV shows to XBMC I add them one by one from the Files view (to be precise: from custom Files nodes in the Movies/TV Shows menus on Aeon Nox 4.0). From the Files view I go to the new item's entry in the files/folders list, I press "i", XBMC scans the file and it adds it to my collection. It also opens automatically the entry of the movie I just added (i.e. this view here http://i.imgur.com/M5Ajpw8.jpg). So far nothing wrong. However I am used to immediately access Artwork Downloader from there, to get banners, logos, posters and what not. That's when I encounter the issue above, at least 90% of the times.
However yesterday evening I've noticed that if I refrain from launching AD immediately, exit the scanned item view and the Files view back to Main Menu and from there I access the Movie or TV Shows menu, go to any movie or TV show and launch AD, the issue doesnt present itself.

After further testing I found out a reproducibility rate of 100% in that scenario. Now, it would appear the addon is called in the wrong way when I am in that particular situation (access a scanned item from Files view). I would think that if I am viewing a scanned item's entry and I launch AD from there, I should get the same result, regardless of how I have gotten to the page.... am I wrong?

If you have any insight on this, pls share Smile

Well, to begin with I have found no mentioning in the AD wiki that files view is not supported. Moreover I might be wrong but how is this http://i.imgur.com/M5Ajpw8.jpg a files view? IMO it is a scanned item's page.
If it is indeed files view, is there any way to turn it off? I dont want to launch by mistake an unsupported addon from there.
