Compiling XBMC with amcodec

Getting OT, but as it turns out there is an undocumented 4.2.2 update for my box (you got me thinking that if yours had one mine might too) -- anyway, who knows what spyware is on it, but the update to 4.2.2 worked. I'll build a new apk for 4.2.2 soonish.

By "undocumented" do you mean it wasn't released by MyGica/Geniatech?
For instance, the Finless 4.2.2 that my box is running is a modded unofficial build completely based on the latest official build without the crap that the official builds usually bring with them.
Very happy to see that you'll release an AMLogic 8726-M6 for 4.2.2 in the near future. Big Grin
Would it be too much to ask you a v13 as well as a v12.2? I mean, I'd be happy enough with a v13 all alone but a v12.2 would make a wonderful Xmas here. Big Grin
Either that or a YT video on how to build an AML. That would reaaaally rock. Tongue
Thanks in advance mate.
Cheers

By undocumented I mean this: http://www.usofttech.com/t57548.html

It has no google apps, the ethernet doesn't work, and it is a very basic 4.2.2 android release. Hopefully I can get play working at least but I might have do downgrade. Anyway... I'll post back with a new nightly sometime soon.

The part of having no google apps to me is good. That way you can add the apps that you want Wink.
As for not having ethernet working, that's not bad, that's hugely bad Sad
Just don't go bricking your box because of me. If in doubt, don't upgrade to 4.2.2.

Well that ship has sailed. Cant seem to downgrade it either. It'd be fine if I could get google play installed. But anyway, here is a link compiled for 4.2.2, give it a try: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8315...-debug.apk

Hi micahg.
Many thanks for your v13/4.2.2 build Big Grin
If I ever build a v12.2/4.2.2 I'll post it here in the forum.
Cheers mate

Hi to all guys!
Thank you micahg for the XBMC v13 Alpha11 version compiled with amlogic codec. I tried different XBMC apk. Your solution is the only one that enable my tv-box to play MKV Full HD with hardware acceleration in XBMC and without audio issue. Thanks a lot... but I have only a little problem. XBMC is in full screen, but the videos are not in full screen (see the example image: http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/6201/37yo.jpg ). There is a workaround for that or, please, can you recompile it to make it work correctly? Thx a lot!

P.S. I have an Android 4.2.2 TV Box with Amlogic M6 dual core (Plunk Elite 2)

That is _really_ wierd. Especially since the overlays (video information) seems to fill the screen. I have _no_ idea how to go about fixing that Sad

thx micahg, during playing I see "very speed image (frame)",like a flash, at the right resolution. Seems that system try to set the fullscreen resolution but fail and show the video in a little box.
I tried to disable overscan (and other settings that could affect the image) on my TV Panasonic ST60 and set the video calibration in XBMC... but nothing.

I tried also XBMC v12 and this version show the movie in full screen but, without hardware acceleration support, stuttering a lot.
The official v13 crash XBMC when I try to play a video.
Your v13 version works well but with video in a box.
Please, to exclude a Gotham bug, could you compile an XBMC v12 with Amlcodec for Android 4.2.2? Thank you very much!

I would like to take this opportunity to ask also a question (a doubt).
XBMC GUI runs at 720p and I can't change this resolution in the settings.
If I play a 1080p video, the 1080p signal is a real 1080p (like the original source)?
Or XBMC downscale the video at 720p and after make an interpolation to 1080p (with loss of details)?

Lollo have a good idea:

If nobody have time to help out the AMLogic owners, maybe can somebody tell how is possible make self a AmLogic version.

Currently i have a 12.2 and one 13.0 alfa AmLogic version with HW accelration (shame but not from this forum)

Yes, I would like to learn how to compile XBMC for Android with amcodec parameters.
If anyone can give us some indications, we can proceed alone...

@micahg: I found that if in Settings/Display (of my Android Smart Box) I set 720p as output video format the movie paly in fullscreen. With 1080 I see it in a small box (see photo posted above). 720p, however, does not use properly the Full HD panel TV's ... Sad
With the official version of XBMC for Android, my Smart box correctly reproduces the 1080 signal (but slowly because it does not have hardware acceleration). I do not know if it's a problem due to the compilation (lost some passage or other) or if it is due to the codec (amcodec), but you can take another look?
thanks

@sentinel800: please, could you share to me your xbmc + amcodec (12.2 and 13)? thx a lot
