HDHomeRun PVR options
#1
I recently decided to get on using the HDHomerun Dual that I purchased a while back and had left sitting around. While I understand that XBMC provides some direct support for the HDHomerun I also understand that the wiki says it will probably be abandomed for PVR support in the future. I must run windows on the machines and I am not sure if delving into the backend side of it would make sense at this point, however time shifting capabilities would be a huge plus. Should I stick with the supported way or move toward the PVR side? Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm currently running MediaPortal on Win7 using an HDHomerun as the tuner and it's working very well. The timeshifting had been very stable. There is also a project going on that uses WMC as the backend server that looks really interesting but the client addons are limited right now.

You can also use NextPVR as a backend for your HDHomeRun. It works well.
