I've been running xbmcbuntu 11.0 for the last couple years on my Acer Revo 1600. I've been thinking about updating to a newer version but wasn't sure which build would work the best with my hardware. The Acer Revo has the Nvidia ION so I guess I need something that supports it.
Any advice?

I'm in the same situation and I just installed openelec onto a micro sd card that came with my Nook ereader (so I could leave my existing install intact). I've only been running it a couple of days but so far I've had no problems.
I'll keep monitoring this thread and I'll add comments in a week or so.

Intel - nvidia xbmcbuntu 12 iso Or try openelec, I'm pretty sure there is still a x64 ion build, if not use the generic build x64 (If your revo supports x64 that is).

OpenElec does have an Ion 64 build.
I haven't had a stutter-free experience since XBMCFreak 9, but maybe you'll do better.
