Comedy tribute: Windows XP support is dropped for XBMC v13 Gotham
#1
For those of you who follow the bleeding edge changes to XBMC, you might already know that with this change we've dropped XP support: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/3144

It was discussed before hand within the Team, and a lot of thought was put into it. A number of factors comes up, like Microsoft officially dropping support of XP early next year, a lack of Windows developers on Team XBMC who run XP or are willing to check for XP related bugs, and various benefits in what Vista + brings. XP doesn't have any hardware decoding support outside of the Broadcom Crystal HD. XP is also older than the original xbox platform, which we dropped years ago.

But that's not all...

We want to make a formal announcement on the xbmc.org blog about this, but I'm wondering if we can do something funny to help see off the old XP platform.

Maybe a YouTube video where "Taps" is playing, and someone films a funeral service for an XP install disk.

Maybe a funny photoshopped picture or drawing. Maybe photoshop XP getting into that dead-people boat at the end of Lord of the Rings.

Maybe your memories of XP aren't so happy, and you want to send them off Office Space-fax-machine style.

Give us your ideas! :D

Something movie-themed would be great, since it's XBMC.
