Linux [SOLVED] HTPC Won't Power On When External HDD Attached
#1
I've tried searching for a solution to this but I've had no luck yet.

I have an Acer Revo RL70 with XBMCbuntu 11 installed.

I sometimes have an issue whereby when I connect my external 1TB HDD to the Revo it will cut the power to the box and it will turn off. This has happened with a 36 inch Sony, a 42 inch LG and now a 24 inch Tevion (Aldi) TV.

Usually I can fix it by disconnecting the power, HDMI and HDD and re-adding them 1 by 1. However for some reason I cannot seem to get it to work when connected to the Tevion TV.

And it is not a case of the Revo not booting and it being a boot problem, the power on the Box won't turn on.

Does anyone have any solutions (other than disconnecting the HDD as all my Media is on the HDD)

Thanks in advance!

SOLVED: I have rebuilt the HTPC, with regards to software. I am no2 booting Ubuntu 14.04 directly into XBMC 13. I have not had the issue since.
