HDMI 2.0 officially announced: 18Gbps bandwidth, 60fps 4K, 32 channel audio, supports 3,840 x 2,160 resolution video at up to 60fps in basically the same form factor as HDMI

I hope it dies a painful death and we see the rise of DisplayPort taking over, which already supports this and more, and is royalty-free.

Wish all tellies only had a display port. Pioneer had it spot on years ago with the Kuro's.

Slim panel with only a power input and a display port.

Then at the other end of the display port cable was a dedicated pioneer box with all your inputs. No faffing with putting multiple cables in the wall and having to plan it as the ports were tight to the wall.

This 4K monitor seems to have HDMI, DVI-DL and DPX2

DPX2 is Display Port times two I suspect, might be a good idea to make sure your new purchases have this.
