Building HTPC/ High End Gaming Computer
#1
I'm building an HTPC to serve as both my next gaming console (Xbox One/PS4) and Media Center Running XBMC
I currently have a Zotac AD-04 with an AMD E-450 APU which can handle media playback and blu ray files but performs poor for gaming and uploading with programs like xsplit. I'm trying to future proof this system as much as possible and currently have set my budget limit at around 1000$ give or take a hundred lol. I definitely want 16gb of RAM but im not sure whether to go with 1333mhz or 1600. I want the best possible performance out of this setup and RAM can be a huge part of that.

Here are the current components:

CPU: AMD FX 8350 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6819113284
Graphics Card: Radeon 7950 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6814125414
Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z AM3+ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6813131876
Inter Drive for OS: OCZ Vector 128GB SSD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6820227915
2X HD for Movies/Games: Seagate 4TB HD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6822178338
Case: Silverstone Mid Size http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6811163196
RAM: ?? Looking for suggestions I want to go with at least 16GB of either 1800mhz or 1600mhz

Please look through the current components I have listed and help me identify any problems I might run into and/or suggestions to make this setup better/higher performance

Not too many games can take advantages of eight cores. You'd be better off with a faster quad-core processor like the i5-4670K and a Z87 motherboard.

It seems like the next generation of gaming the consoles will be using more of a multi-core approach.

a haswell i7 or i5 will be far superior to the amd , along with a z87 mobo and ram which the mobo will support higher speed memory so u can get memory of 2100+ MHz
