Unfortunately that doesnt help. I tried ripping a disc with just makemkv and I get a error... looks like its a makemkv problem and I'llchase it up from that end.

I think this could be the same error that I was getting in OE, but my log files arent on pastebin anymore so I cant be sure.

Looks like it was a licensing issue - makemkv is out of beta so installing a new version doesnt reset the trial period. You can get a new beta key from here http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1053

Hello fellows, I read and read how this should be configured to get it up and running in Ubuntu but how do you get this done in Windows and XBMC Gotham Beta? I'd very much appreciate your help before I pull my hair. Thanks!

I have no experience with Windows but if I remember correctly I by chance read before that AnyDVDHD can remove protections in the backgound on the fly. Then XBMC would just see it as a unencrypted disc.

Thanks shadow! Will try your suggestion, however it would be good to have someone here detailing what are the steps to have XBMC playing encrypted Blurays under WINDOWS, just as the details for having in it under Linux are explained on support thread: http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?t=7009

Any help would be most welcome!
Best,

capfuturo

Found the steps for for Blu-Ray play under Windows systems: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1654806

It is fantastic how clean and simple the playback of Blu-ray has become due to latest makeMKV. We just need same cleanliness at supporting BD-J menus! Hopefully soon.
Best,

capfuturo

To people looking to purchase MakeMkv - it was about 30% cheaper to use a US proxy and pay in USD than to buy it from Australia with AUD - if its much more than $50USD in your region it may be worth doing the same.

@shadow: damn right !

Since "apt-get remove libaacs" will remove xbmc too, I had to remove "/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libaacs.so.0", "/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libaacs.so.0.1.0" manually.

Symlink to /usr/local/lib doesn't work, idependently if libaacs is still there or removed, VLC will than tell there is no AACS library, but symlinking in /usr/lib now works flawlessly !

XBMC plays discs here when hitting "DISC" ..

It loads my Hobbit Bluray instantly, much faster than any standalone player !

Now WAF has increased exponentially :-)

Will hope, that libmmd will work on when testing period of makemkv is over ...

This thread should be made stick ! "Howto: Full bluray support in Linux & XBMC"

I am lost, I can't get the Bluray playback to work correctly.

I have installed makeMKV 1.8.5 and did the symlink in /usr/lib/.

But when I hit the play disc button, nothing happens. I am sure I am missing something but I don't know what.
