Had been thinking of dropping in an SSD on my XBMC boxes, I was just down at a local BestBuy that is preparing to move their store to a new shopping area.. and found three Kingston SSDNow v300, 60gb SSDs
for 70% off....
thats $16 each....
if you have to ask.. I mean GEEZE!
anyway is 60gb big enough for using as an XBMC drive?
and how do you enable TRIM for them?

Damn thats a good price. 60gb is PLENTY for a linux install, even enough for a tight win7 install.
For ext4 filesystem (pretty much default) you enable trim by editing the file /etc/fstab and adding the 'discard' option the the mount options. Theres loads of info on the net about enabling it.

Yeah I was standing there and asked the girl in blue and when she told me the price I was like a kitten discovering their first litter box, was digging like mad thru the piles of stuff lookin for more!
