in the settings -> video -> file lists -> default select action, I have this set to choose. When I select a movie, the context menu appears as it should, however when I select "show more information" the movie just plays; it does not show the more information screen. Select "play" and it plays as you'd expect. This is happening on both my pis but not my PC or laptop. Any ideas?

Anyone else experiencing this issue? I've tried to do fresh installs, etc but to no avail.

What OS are you running on your Pi?
A debug log (wiki), uploaded to a public paste site and linked here, which shows this behavior would be helpful to those trying to assist you.

Another question: Does the Pi have the media content scanned into its own library? If there's no library on the Pi, the "Show information" option has no information to show, so it defaults to playing the selected video instead. Likewise if the Pi is accessing its media content via UPnP. This behavior is not specific to the Pi.

Ah I see - I scanned the media on a Windows PC whilst having a MySQL database set up. So are you saying that because I did the scan on the Windows PC rather than Pi it won't work? I assume there is a way to import the library?

Edit: not sure I want to export-import after reading this (http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Imp...rt_library) as the library is available to the Pi via the SQL database no? I followed this thread (http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HOW...sing_MySQL) for MySQL and that works perfectly well on my network.
