Release TvTunes Addon - Retrieve & Play Soundtracks Whilst Browsing Your Library
New Beta

Hi All,

I have constructed a new beta zip:

https://robwebset.googlecode.com/svn/rel...4.3.6b.zip

This beta has a bit of a re-shuffle on the "Theme Download" options.

In addition to the TvTunes button on the Video Information screen, which allows you to download the theme for the selected Movie/TV Show (This appears to be the most common way of downloading themes).

TvTunes has now been implemented as a plugin as well. This will list all the Movies/TV Shows/Music Videos that you have on the system and will put a tick against those that already have themes for them (i.e. a theme in the same folder, or a tvtunes.nfo file). You can then select the given Movie/TV Show and have it download a new theme. This should enable you to find out which of your Movies/TV Shows are missing themes.

This method replaces the previous "Download All" approach where it just prompted you video after video until they were all done.

You can get to this screen in the following ways:

1) Via the TvTunes Settings screen "Download" -> "Perform Complete Search Now"
2) From the Programs Menu -> TvTunes
3) Videos -> Addons -> TvTunes

Please can a few people give it a try and see what you thing - but please remember - it is a beta!

Rob
Nice!

I'll give that a try tonight and see if this maybe also solves my earlier problems Smile

Du you have a preferred syntax that I should use when adding a username and password to the .nfo?
will <file>username:password@theme.mp3</file> work?

You will need to put the full path in for this test - so starting with AFP://
Thanks. Suspected that but I wanted to check Smile
Here are my results from using the new beta and having a .nfo with the full path to the file I want it to play Smile

Same problem persist for me but apart from that I like the new feature of seeing what has a theme and what hasn't. Could not get the download directly from the new overview to work though? Clicking a show or movie just plays the navigation sound for section and nothing else happens as far as I can tell.

@Hasten: I assume you are running these tests in Confluence. If so, could you please do as follows and report back:

1) Post your DialogVideoInfo.xml. There is an instruction in charge of the download theme that may be missing. If so, I will review it and re-post it to you corrected.
Location: xbmc->skin.conflunce->720p

2) Can you see if you can go to XBMC file view and browse the AFP share until you get to the file TV Shows/Almost Human/theme.mp3. Once there can you play it from within XBMC (not VLC or another OS X player), does it play?

3) Could you please mount the AFP share as a local drive in OS X and use that as a source.

4) If possible, could you please replace your x64 (64 bits) version of XBMC and try x86 (32 bits)? The AFP implementation in 32 bits version appears to be solid.

@Rob: I've got the impression this might be, to some extent, an XBMC 64-bits-version "temperamental" glitch at handling anonymous AFP. Please have a look at: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=162090

The previous log was with Aeon MQ5 but here is a new one with Confluence. Same results though.

Here is the log: http://hasten.synology.me:5000/fbsharing/437NMwfF
(had to use another server to do it since xbmclogs for some reason claimed the text contained a "phrase that was censored" and pastebin didn't like the 500kb+ size...) Nod

Edit:
1. DialogVideoInfo.xml: http://hasten.synology.me:5000/fbsharing/WNXr8QWF
2. Will check tomorrow
3. I'm thinking of trying a different protocol (SMB or nfs) before switching to 32 bits but I could test that. Did have the share on nfs before but switched to afp for some reason. Probably a good idea to swap back again judging from that thread though.
@Hasten:
1)
Your DialogVideoInfo file is missing the onload controls to kick-start TvTunes script at the header and has the wrong <visible> commands, please use the following file and replace the one you have for Confluence Skin, not MQ5. In the previous post I have pointed where it should be located.

DialogVideoInfo.xml

I used the DialogVideoInfo.xml from the XBMC app on my Mac (full location: Macintosh HD/Applications/XBMC.app/Contents/Resources/XBMC/addons/skin.confluence/720p/DialogVideoInfo.xml).

Going to try to change the file as soon as possible tomorrow Smile

Good, just use the new DialogVideoInfo.xml provided and TvTunes should now scrape and fetch, and perhaps solve some of the play issue that could have even gone under the radar on your side. Hope to hear regarding the other pending items tomorrow. Have a good night!

Okay, now I have had the time to try the new DialogVideoInfo.xml with Confluence. I also changed share and mounted the volume so all files are now located at /Volumes/TV Shows

The same behavior remains. Unable to get sound from a theme.mp3 file and unable to download themes using the new overview in the beta.

Here is my log for playing a tv show theme:
http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=177453

And here is a log trying to download a shows theme from the overview:
http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=177457
And now my database has gone completely bananas and shows me three entries for each episode, despite several library cleans and no video sources at all... I'm thinking a complete reinstall is in order...
@Hasten: corrupted database. Proceed with reinstall (use the new DialogVideoInfo.xml provided) and please use the stock TvTunes add-on, not the new Beta, since we haven't fully tested it to be free of bugs yet. We want to make sure the latest stock version works on your system before trying new betas. Try the following before mounting the AFP share as a volume on OS X:

I) Define a local source in your main OS X hard drive containing just a test movie or tv show and see if you can get the theme play and fetch on them first. This will tell us if your set-up is correctly done in first place. If so then:

I.I) Proceed to try again item 2) and 3). If they work, then check if you can now work successfully with the anonymous AFP share. If no success, try installing XBMC 32 bits version for OS X and try the anonymous AFP once again. If still no luck, then you have 3 choices: 1) stay with the AFP share mounted as volume in OS X; 2) change the file protocol of the share as you previously suggested and try if that works; 3) Perhaps Rob sees the viability of a new fix after collecting all the new feedback you provided including logs.

If I) doesn't work please submit log.
Best,

capfuturo

Okay, the complete reinstall using the new DialogVideoInfo.xml solved everything actually.

Tested all steps above using Confluence and every one works flawlessly.

Thanks for your help @capfuturo and @Rob!

Thanks for the update Hasten,

Is that using afp with the prevously posted patch?
