Release TvTunes Addon - Retrieve & Play Soundtracks Whilst Browsing Your Library
(2014-04-23, 14:52)PISTONRIPPER Wrote: What TV Tunes source does PLEX use. I found it much better

That's because you didn't work with goear perhaps? It was rock solid with HD quality and plethora of soundtrack content plus the possibility for users to feed their own soundtrack content to the online database to share with the world. TvTunes had, for a while, access to an incredible amount of content. Anyway, the key thing here are the capabilities of the add-on to organise and play themes in so many flexible and convenient ways provided the content. These capabilities have no precedent in any HTPC software.

New Scraper Beta

Hi all,

capfuturo has sent me a couple of different web site options for alternative scrapers for TvTunes after we have lost goear.com.

I have messed about a little with soundcloud.com and there is a VERY ROUGH beta available if people wanted to have a bit of a play. (I have not done too much testing with this - and it may well be tweaked and improved over time)

https://robwebset.googlecode.com/svn/rel...4.4.1b.zip

Please let me know how you get on.

Rob
Another New Scraper Beta

The scraper is starting to be spoilt for choice! So, we have lost Goear.com, but the new beta has soundcloud.com and the new addition of grooveshark.com. (In addition to the long standing televisiontunes.com)

I have created a new beta zip (deleted the previous one):

https://robwebset.googlecode.com/svn/rel....4.1b2.zip

There is no fancy filtering on the results - it just searches based on the title. I'm sure capfuturo will do some "checking" to see if there is any fine tuning to the search parameters (He supplied a good set for goear.com while it was working). Big Grin

Please give it a go and let me know how you get on.

Rob
Hey Rob,

I literally can't contained my laughter. When it seemed we lost goear.com without any other choices you came from the ashes with not one but two incredibly powerful scrapers! Yes, we are going to fine tune the search (so we can get to find themes for movies regardless of how we name them in our library as well as getting search results only related to soundtracks) and the way the entries are displayed (so we can see with precision what are the themes about without having to listen one by one and rather only those giving us the right info):

1) Search fine tuning:
1.1) Let's do a cleansing of the search string when performing the automated search so we can remove anything in brackets (as we did in goear.com):
Code:
# Remove anything in square brackets
        searchName = re.sub(r'\[[^)]*\]', '', name)
        # Remove anything in rounded brackets
        searchName = re.sub(r'\([^)]*\)', '', searchName)
        # Remove double space
        searchName = searchName.replace("  ", " ")

I am leaving you with that in the meantime but I'll get back with 1.2) Search parameters in order to get themes just related to soundtrack music and 2) Additional information in the listed entries so we can get to see more than just the name of the song/theme.

fantastic work Rob!
Best,

capfuturo

@rob_webset or @capfuturo:

Can you tell me what are the paths depending on the settings?

Standard:
- Single movie file in separate moviefolder
- VIDEO_TS folder in moviefolder
- BDMV folder in moviefolder

Custom path:
- D:\Themes\? (for movies and tv shows)

Sub directory:
- Single movie file in separate moviefolder
- VIDEO_TS folder in moviefolder
- BDMV folder in moviefolder
I could solve the problem with goear. With Ember downloads will continue to be possible.

@ rob_webset or @ capfuturo:
Can anyone tell me how the results have been filtered?
Other source alternative to goear: http://mp3juices.com/ - Be careful, it has a lot ADS, to play in browser uncheck "Download with MP3Juices Download Manager".
I wish to have Rotten Tomatoes (user+critics) + IMDB both ratings display in skin.

I don't think it's an option - most ISPs will most probably block that one:

I'm not quite sure what your question is?

Please can you share what you did in order to get it working?

It was less filtering - more multiple searches with different strings added, strings were:

"OST", "theme", "title","soundtrack", "tv", "movie", "tema", "BSO", "B.S.O.", "banda sonora", "pelicula"

Same for sites bellow?

There is a lot "illegal" alternatives (goear was the same way).

@tinybutstrong: good to see you back here! Not 'illegal' at all, because their users comply with goear.com terms for their uploaded material. Users can choose to keep it private, to share it for streaming or to share it for download. So it is up to their community of users, and not the music sharing site, how they go about managing their audio material, and what kind of rights do they have/define over the material they share. Goear activities are perfectly legal, just like Soundcloud, Grooveshark and Televisiontunes. The latter is more of a source of reference without any other purpose than the one a library has by keeping a certain registry of literature. The former are a sort of 'You-tube' for music. TvTunes uses this sharing availability to search and/or fetch according to what the users sharing the content have made available to the community, which in turn explains why TvTunes have been using only sources that share content under these terms.
Goear terms: http://en.goear.com/legal/terms
Soundcloud terms: https://soundcloud.com/terms-of-use
Grooveshark terms: http://grooveshark.com/#!/legal/terms
Televisiontunes: http://www.televisiontunes.com/copyright.php

TvTunes supports music themes for Movies, TV shows and Music Videos (added on v. 4.3.5)
Paths as follows:
1) Spare themes (No 'Themes' sub-folder - legacy/default method) using:
Spare themes (outside 'Themes' folder only) must be named theme.ext, theme1.ext, theme3.ext, etc.. where 'ext' is the audio extension: mp3, flac, wma, m4a or wav)
1.1) Video folder: spare themes are located at same level as video file, 'ISO' image, 'BDMV', 'VIDEO_TS' or 'Season' folders.
1.2) Custom path: spare themes are saved into a sub-folder named movie/tv show title as it is displayed by XBMC (<title>movie/tv show name</title>).

2) 'Themes' sub-folder (new feature/alternative method) using:
Themes inside the 'Themes' sub-folder can be named anyway the user wants and can also contain the tvtunes.nfo which specifies paths to play a music file, directory (e.g. a whole soundtrack album), XBMC's playlists .m3u and smart playlists .xps. The contents of the tvtunes.nfo will be passed to TvTunes internal playlist and therefore played and shuffled along with any other audio file located inside the 'Themes' sub-folder.
2.1) Video folder: 'Themes' sub-folder is located at the same level as video file, 'BDMV', 'VIDEO_TS' or 'Season' folders
2.2) Custom path: not supported

Special feature:
There is support for spare themes or sub-folder 'Themes' within a 'Season' folder. This allows you to have different themes for each season of a given show. (Note: currently TvTunes will allow you to fetch themes from within 2 places only, namely the 'TvShows' level and the 'Seasons' level (not the 'Episodes' level; there will be no TvTunes button at such level) and these fetched themes will be placed by TvTunes at the 'TV Show' level, so they will be good for the whole TvShow and its seasons/episodes, even if fetched from within the 'Seasons' level. Seasons (Series) specific themes need to be fetched, added or relocated manually or via a Media Manager supporting handling of themes for TvTunes)

Movie Sets:
For Movie Sets, all Movies in the set will be searched for existent themes, and these themes will be played in a random order when the Movie Set is selected in the Movie List screen.
Best,

capfuturo

Yes, same block.

Not sure I agree with your description as "legacy" and "preferred" Big Grin, I would label them as:

1) Default - Preferred
2) Alternative

This is because the defaults in settings match this, and as I use option 1, I view that as default Wink

(Unlike the VideoExtras case - where the old method for supporting DVDExtras in the same dir, is definately legacy and was only in there to help people migrate from DVDExtras to VideoExtras)

Rob
I agree with yours and mine! :-)

Hi Guys

Prior to the most recent version, I was able to call TV Tunes to do a full automated scan & download of missing tunes for my TV show library. Alas, I don't seem able to do so anymore.

Is there a mode I can call, similar to solo? Or could one be added?

Thanks for all your work.
My fanart.tv & themoviedb.org accounts.

@Samu-rai: good to see you here; I hope things are going 'tickety-boo' with MQ5! With regards to your enquiry please read Rob's post #481.

PS: whilst its fully operational in Frodo, this new plugin method is not yet supported for/by Gotham
Best,

capfuturo
